Growing Safety and Hygiene Standard in the Agriculture Industry to Multiply Agricultural Gloves Market Size
Agricultural
gloves are protective equipment used by farmers to protect their hands during
work in the field. They are produced from different materials such as latex,
rubber, cotton, and leather. Among these, rubber-based gloves are highly used
in agriculture, owing to their superior chemical protection properties. These
gloves can be used in horticulture industry since they act as a wearable
protective equipment that can be used as shield against thermal and chemical
damages.
Growing
awareness regarding health and safety among farmers is driving demand for
protective equipment such as agricultural gloves. This is propelling the growth
of medical gloves market. The expanding agriculture industry due to
increasing cultivation around the globe is another key factor driving the
growth of the market. According to the Economic Research Service United States
Department of Agriculture, Agriculture, food, and related industries
contributed $1.109 trillion to the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019, a
5.2-percent share. The output of America’s farms contributed $136.1 billion of
this sum—about 0.6 percent of GDP. Moreover, increasing safety standards and
general awareness across the agriculture community is further anticipated to
propel the growth of the agricultural gloves market. Furthermore, growing
awareness regarding the toxicity of chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides,
and insecticides is also projected to augment the growth of the agricultural
gloves market.
From
the geographical point of view, the Asia Pacific is projected to gain
significant growth over the forecast period and this is attributed to the
expanding agriculture industry which is fueling demand for agricultural gloves.
Increasing food grain production is also driving demand for agriculture glove in
the region. According to the India Brand Equity Foundation, during the
2019-2020 crop year, food grain production was estimated to reach a record of
295.67 million tonnes (MT). In 2020-21, the Government of India is targeting
food grain production of 298 MT.
